How we write the articles

The articles in News are written by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) from the match data we store, and only from it, and are checked automatically against that data before publishing. We do not copy, rewrite or summarise other outlets' articles, and we do not use quotes, injury news or rumours.

What we write

Reports after Super League, Greek Cup and Greek clubs' European matches (and Super League 2 ones when there are events), previews 48 hours before kick-off, the line-ups as soon as they are announced, stats when a number is worth telling (e.g. a player reaches 5 or 10 goals, a winning run, a new leader) and every Monday «The week».

Stats are limited: at most one article per club per 48 hours and at most six a day.

How they are written

For each article we gather its data: score, scorers and minutes, cards, substitutions, venue and kick-off (Greek time), the table, both clubs' last 5 matches and streaks, their recent meetings, the players' season numbers and the next fixtures. The model writes the article from these alone, with no opinions, predictions or quotes, in a neutral sports-journalism style. Greek and English are written separately from the same data (English for the Super League, the Greek Cup and Greek clubs in Europe). Line-ups are always written from a template.

When an article does not pass the checks, the version from text templates in Greek and English is published, with the clubs' names correctly declined in Greek. The wording follows the data: a comeback, a late winner, a red card, a 0–0, a big win. The key player of a report is chosen only from the match data: the most goals; on a tie, the most assists (where the provider sends them); then the most minutes played; then whoever contributed first. Without goals or assists there is no key player.

A table position is stated only when today's table is the table after the match. In previews, «what's at stake» says only what the points make certain.

Where the data comes from

From API-Football (results, events, line-ups, tables) and our own calculations, as described on «How we calculate».

Checked before publishing

Before an article is published, an automatic check reads the text again: every number must be in the match or club data and every name must be a club, player or competition of the article. A second model reads every sentence and flags any the data does not support. If something does not match, the text is rewritten once; if it still fails, the template version is published.

Articles with few facts (fewer than three facts beyond the score in a report, fewer than two numbers in a stat) are published but not offered to search engines.

Corrections

If a match's data changes after publishing (e.g. a goal is credited to another player), the article is rewritten at the same address, marked «Updated» with the time. We keep every version.
